The walk commences at Teno Alto, situated at the core of the Teno Rural Park. The population has suffered long-term isolation for hundreds of years, which has allowed a rich ethnographic heritage to survive. This includes tiled ovens, old stone threshing floors, terraced fields, “tagoras”, cisterns, cave houses, stables, beekeeping, shepherding and goat breeding. Teno Alto is a genuine bastion of traditional rural customs inherited from the Guanche culture, the people who inhabited the Canary Islands at the time of their conquest. As you walk along, you will experience a sense of timelessness and tranquility, accompanied by a feeling of peace and calm. From this strategic plateau, at an altitude of 770 metres, we have unparalleled views of the neighbouring islands of La Gomera and La Palma. The tour will conclude with a visit to a local restaurant housed in an old farmhouse, where guests will have the opportunity to sample the area’s renowned goat cheese accompanied by a fine regional wine. Wear hiking shoes or trainers with good soles and bring raincoat, hat, sun protection and enough water with you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This hike is suitable for children from 12 years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.<\/strong><\/p>\n
